Adding Solar to your home can save both yourself, and the Planet

Solar is, in my opinion, the best thing an individual can do to save on rising energy costs and to do their part of reducing co2 emissions.

I have owned an off-grid home for the last 25 years. Back then when I installed my Solar System, the technology was well behind what the market can offer today. It is truly amazing how far technology has come to enable us to be able to live comfortably from the Sun’s free energy. You become more aware of your energy use when you live on solar; “Did I turn the lights off?” becomes a common thought. This is type of thinking is not a bad thing, as every little bit can help you save on energy costs and lower your Carbon Footprint.

Many homes have a Gas bill for heating in the colder months. By installing a decent Solar System and an Air Conditioning System (either multiple units or by a ducted and zone enabling air conditioning system), removing your gas bill could potentially cover your new Solar System payment plan. Not to mention the money you are hopefully saving on your electricity bill. It will not take too long to have the Solar System paid off and producing “free energy”.

Residential Solar Panels

Installing things like Solar and Zone controlled AC systems, can be great ways to reduce your rising energy bills, pair that with effective Draught Proofing of your home, and you have a winning combination.

With the production and demand increasing for Electric Vehicles, many Australians are now able to power their every day ride, with the power generated from their Solar Systems. This will obviously depend on the size and set up of your solar system, budget and current fuel costs.

These are just a few ways that Solar can impact your life, wallet and the environment for many years to come.

We here at Draught Proofing Specialists can help you find many ways to live more comfortably, environmentally conscious and save on rising energy costs. To find out more, drop us a line below!
